Terms
Terms for submitting comics
Pricing and your estimate
Prices follow the pricing table and the fair market value you declare for each comic. The estimate you see when you order is a guide. The final price follows our own assessment when your comics arrive. If a declared value is far from the market, we will tell you the corrected price and ask for your approval, or return the comic to you free of charge.
Deposit and balance
A deposit is due when you submit. It is the lowest charge for each comic (the Press price for its value tier, or $150 for a comic worth $5,000 or more). Anything beyond it is invoiced when the work is done, together with return shipping.
Extra Service
Extra Service is decided at our assessment of each comic. We ask for your approval first, unless you approved it for the whole order when you submitted.
What pressing can and cannot do
Pressing can address spine rolls, non-colour-breaking creases, reading wrinkles, printing waves, corner creases that do not break colour and, sometimes, debris indents. It cannot repair colour-breaking creases, tears, missing pieces, staple damage, water damage or chemical damage, and we do not offer restoration. We tell you what is and is not possible, and any defect we cannot treat is reported with no hedging.
Shipping and insurance
You pay to ship your comics to us and you carry the risk while they travel. Choose your own carrier and insurance. We return your comics by tracked shipping and the cost is added to your invoice. Freshly Pressed Comics does not carry insurance on comics in our care.
Opening a slab
We open a graded case only when you ask for it on your order, at $10 per comic. Opening a slab ends its grade. A signature series slab cannot keep its signature status once it is opened. This cannot be undone.
Photos
We photograph your comics for your own record. We show your photos publicly only if you tick the box that allows it on your order.
Your information
We use your details to run your order and to contact you about it. We delete your personal details after five years with no activity. Invoice and payment records are kept separately, as tax records require.
